Who Is Eligible for Hospice?
- A physician certifies a life expectancy of six months or less if the illness runs its normal course
- The patient chooses comfort-focused care instead of curative treatment
- Patients can leave hospice at any time and return later if needed

Paying for Hospice
Hospice is covered for eligible patients under Medicare, Medi-Cal and many private insurance plans.
